Left: the front of the house before the concrete work.

 

Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right: September 2005, work on the ramp and retaining walls for the basement.  We did this section in 10 pours and made about 18 yards of concrete.  The girls only made it for 2 of the pours because school had started.  But Noah either finished school early (by 10am) or doubled up on the days we were forming so that he could make all the pours.  Forming was tricky because we had the access shaft (the plywood box below) to the septic tank and the septic line running through our concrete.

Above:  Amanda near the gates.  The grey steel panel in the ramp is the access shaft to the septic tank.   We finished the outside work in late September 2005.  The next project was the basement floor.
